The performance by Marco da Silva Ferreira has been one of the standout revelations of the last international season. Portuguese by birth and training, da Silva Ferreira has solidified his artistic identity with Carcaça, a piece whose longevity has been supported by the Big Pulse Dance Alliance, of which Torinodanza is a member. This piece connects the memory of folk dances with urban dance styles, using choreography as a tool to explore communities, the building of collective identity, memory, and cultural heritage. The performance consists of a series of highly original suggestions and movements, executed by flawless performers, including Marco da Silva Ferreira himself.
