OPEN CALL – Visiting Artist Programme (VAP)
Torinodanza Festival invites Italian choreographers to submit their applications to participate in the Visiting Artist Programme (VAP) 2025/2026.
Launched within the Big Pulse Dance Alliance network (bigpulsedance.eu), VAP has become an independent European project funded by the Creative Europe programme. The initiative is dedicated to emerging choreographers and dancers, offering them the opportunity to experience the vibrant atmosphere of Europe’s leading dance festivals. Over the next twenty-four months, more than 150 artists will have the chance to visit festivals across 22 European countries that are part of the network.
Specifically, Torinodanza Festival will select a group of Italian artists, with a particular focus on those from the Turin and Piedmont region, to participate in 2025 at Dance Week Festival in Croatia (May 13–18) and Bratislava in Movement (October, dates to be confirmed). Next year, the selected Italian artists will be hosted by One Dance in Plovdiv, Bulgaria (May 2026), and December Dance in Bruges, Belgium (December 2026).
Selected artists will have the opportunity to visit the festivals, attend performances, meet artistic directors and local professionals from leading dance institutions, gain diverse perspectives on contemporary choreographic practices, take part in talks and masterclasses, and discover key spaces and institutions in the field of dance and performing arts.
