AKRAM KHAN | SUE BUCKMASTER
In 2015, Akram Khan created Desh, one of the most extraordinary dance solos of the new millennium. Shortly afterward, together with director Sue Buckmaster, he developed Chotto Desh, meaning “small homeland.” This iconic work draws on the English artist’s unique ability to tell intercultural stories, creating a compelling tale of a boy’s dreams and memories, from Britain to Bangladesh. Blending kathak and contemporary dance with an exquisite score of text, dreamlike animations, visuals, and specially composed music, Chotto Desh is a captivating and touching dance-theater experience for children and their families.
