The show’s theme is disorientation. Two different groups of dancers cross paths, barely touch each other and act almost as virtual strangers while inhabiting the stage: a metaphor for a world increasingly torn apart by separations and loneliness. Momo is a performance imbued with delicate tenderness that showcases, in particular, the personalities of the extraordinary dancers of the Batsheva Dance Company. Yet again, Ohad Naharin has invented a new form of expression. He constructs a microcosm packed with actions and counter-actions, failed contacts and bewildered souls. Hence, it is no stretch of the imagination to rate Naharin as one of the leading choreographers of his generation.
