Artistic Director Torinodanza Festival
CONTEMPORARY CREATIVITY
2025 EDITION
Torinodanza presents itself this year in a renewed form: more intense, more focused, more appealing. The program promises an ambitious vision, emphasizing the importance of a dynamic and inclusive approach to contemporary dance. This denser and livelier format aims to encourage the participation of Italian and international presenters and audiences, reaffirming Turin as a key destination for contemporary creativity. The performances span the city, from Teatro Carignano to the Intesa Sanpaolo skyscraper, from the Casa del Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani to the Fonderie Limone in Moncalieri, which remains the beating heart of the Festival. The international scope of the event, the desire to explore a variety of genres and forms, and the commitment to supporting and promoting Italian dance confirm the Festival’s historic vocation. The programming threads weave together like the warp and weft of a dense network of activities that make up the core of the Festival, which aims not to be a mere showcase, but the sublime moment in which dance is fulfilled and the theater reveals itself as a mirror of society. Productive support, the hosting of companies, audience care, complementary activities such as workshops, and local relationships with stakeholders are structural and founding elements of the Festival. Each new season allows me to express my personal gratitude to the partners who promote this prestigious project, the identity card of a vision that is open and multicultural. A shared point of view with the Teatro Stabile di Torino and the City of Turin, the primary engines of Torinodanza, joined by our main supporter, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, which always stands as a model of solidarity practices. Special thanks go to Intesa Sanpaolo, which this year opens the doors of the skyscraper’s Auditorium in Turin, to the Piedmont Region, which opens the territory to dance, to the Ministry of Culture, which continues to show ever-renewed interest in this art form, and to the City of Moncalieri. Collaborations, partnerships, and shared visions involve many other institutions, among which I am pleased to acknowledge: Fondazione per la Cultura Torino, MITO SettembreMusica, Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo with the Lavanderia a Vapore in Collegno – Dance Residency Center, Associazione Mosaico Danza and Festival Interplay, Fondazione Teatro Piemonte Europa and Festival delle Colline Torinesi Torino Creazione Contemporanea, Fondazione Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani, Orsolina28 Art Foundation. The Festival is a celebration of experiencing new artistic adventures, and we will do so together with the companies and artists who will accompany us on this journey.
