U. (A Chant) is a performance inspired by folk and traditional pieces from the Italian 20th-century repertoire, dealing with topics such as love, nature, exile, and resistance. It is executed by a chorus of singers and performers. As usual, Sciarroni engages artists from diverse disciplines, incorporating techniques from dance, music, circus, and sport. His works aim to unveil obsessions, fears, and fragility through exasperated repetition, pushing the limits of physical endurance and seeking an empatheti relationship between audience and performers. In U., the alternation between songs and silence shapes a choreography of voices: a hymn of joy, hope, and love, presenting an (almost) impossible challenge.
