Maqam<\/em> e\u0300 una parola araba che significa molte cose: luogo, posizione, stazione, scala e soprattutto il sistema di organizzazione melodica della musica araba tradizionale, una tecnica di improvvisazione musicale largamente praticata in tutto il Medio Oriente. Il punto di partenza e\u0300 la forma-concerto, con musica dal vivo orchestrata da Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch ed il canto di Amir ElSaffar, un \u201cconcerto coreografia\u201d che esplora la relazione compositiva tra ambiente sonoro e coreografico.<\/p>\n

Maqam is an Arabic word for many things: location, position, station, scale and, most importantly, the system used for the melodic organisation of traditional Arabic music, a music improvisation technique widely applied throughout the Middle East. The starting point is the concert-form, featuring live music orchestrated by Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch and the singing of Amir ElSaffar. A “choreographed concert” that explores the compositional relationship between sound and choreographic environment.<\/span><\/p>\n
