DANCE MATTERS
LA DANZA È IMPORTANTE

A festival is a living organism, and as such it evolves over time, taking on different forms and dynamics. Torinodanza is widely recognized and followed; it is EXTRA in the way it unfolds throughout the entire year; it is a place for performances, but also for reflection, experiences, and international relationships. Its beating heart is the autumn program, which in the 2026 edition takes shape as a true geography of movement, where companies from Europe, America, and Asia outline a map of aesthetics that engage in dialogue between tradition, experimentation, reflections on the present, and perspectives on the world.

Over the years, I have learned a great deal thanks to the people and institutions that have accompanied me. From the Teatro Stabile di Torino, which passionately and dedicatedly oversees the organization of the festival, and from the City of Turin, which understands the value that an international event brings back to the community.
From our main supporter, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, I have learned the importance of weaving collaborations to create a spirit of solidarity that enriches and improves society as a whole.
Intesa Sanpaolo reminds me every year of the privilege of having a prestigious sponsor at our side, one that engages with the city in all its facets.
From the Piedmont Region come new inspirations each year, broadening the festival’s scope. I am grateful to the City of Moncalieri for the wonderful space of the Fonderie Limone. Finally, the Ministry of Culture encourages us to conceive ever new artistic directions.

Thanks to an unexpected private donation, I have come to appreciate the generosity of such a rare and therefore extremely precious gesture. Equally fundamental is the exchange with companies, artists, and institutions which, through ongoing dialogue, shape each new edition. I would like to warmly acknowledge Fondazione per la Cultura Torino with MITO SettembreMusica, Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo with Lavanderia a Vapore in Collegno – a residency center for dance, Associazione Mosaico Danza with Festival Interplay, Fondazione TPE with Festival delle Colline Torinesi, and Orsolina28 Art Foundation.

2026 is a special year for dance in our region thanks to NID – New Italian Dance Platform, which precedes the Festival: an unmissable event that brings together the entire national and international dance system.
