Omar Rajeh | Maqamat
Beytna (which means “our home”) by Omar Rajeh, Lebanese by birth and French by adoption, presents itself as an immersive experience. Four dancers/choreographers (including Rajeh himself) and four musicians meet on stage in front of a feast. They chat, drink, laugh, dance, and prepare food, which they eventually offer to the spectators, who become part of a community formed during the performance. It is an invitation into the home of another, where food and choreography become mediums of meeting and sharing, joyful tools that create harmony in diversity.
