BRIGEL GJOKA | RAUF “RUBBERLEGZ” YASIT & RUŞAN FILIZTEK
Albania/United Kingdom/United States/Turkey
Brigel Gjoka and Rauf “RubberLegz” Yasit are both dancers and choreographers who, together with William Forsythe, have created Neighbours. This minimalist-like and highly experimental originates from break dance meeting contemporary dance. The performers use their different backgrounds and their gestural affinities to invent a common choreographic language. Like a question-and-answer game, the production explores the similarities and differences between their respective practices and origins: Albanian for the former, Kurdish for the latter.
