Session è il lavoro più recente di Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, coprodotto da Torinodanza, una tappa del percorso del coreografo fatto di incontri con tradizioni molto differenti tra loro. In Session il dialogo è con le danze tradizionali irlandesi e con il suo interprete più prestigioso, Colin Dunne. Attingendo agli aspetti ritmici e sonori della danza irlandese, all’eco di melodie orientali arricchite di trame elettroacustiche e performance corali polifoniche, questi due artisti incredibilmente diversi scoprono le loro possibilità relazionali spingendo i rispettivi linguaggi coreografici verso una fusione originale. Una nuova creazione a quattro mani presentata in esclusiva a Torinodanza festival.

ENG Session is Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s most recent work; it was co-produced with Torinodanza and is another stage in the career of this choreographer who explores a variety of very different traditions. In Session he engages with traditional Irish dances and their most celebrated performer, Colin Dunne. Drawing on the rhythmic and sound elements of Irish dance, the echoes of oriental melodies enhanced by electroacoustic patterns, and polyphonic choral performances, these two remarkably different artists discover how to relate, propelling their choreographic languages towards an unconventional union. A new creation by this duo, and a Torinodanza festival exclusive.
